Thanks for your help thus far with HB 2222, the dog fighting and
cockfighting bill. As most of you know, the hearing on this bill did not go
well and we have some real problems in the subcommittee, particularly
with Representative Terri Hodge. Thus our plan is to contact the chair
of the Criminal Jurisprudence Committee Terry Keel and ask that he bring
the bill out of the subcommittee and into the main committee and give
it a vote. If you could get as many people in Austin as possible to go
by his office or call him, that would be great.

We have changed the bill somewhat to try and satisfy Representative
Hodge and also to satisfy a couple of objections that Representative Pena
had. Below is a link to a copy of the talking points with a list of
what the bill now does after we made our changes. You can use that as
your talking points. Call me and let me know if you have any questions
and also I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

It's already illegal to abuse animals.
There's no need for this redundancy.
It's a waste of taxpayer's money and leglislators' time.

Please learn to read. The reason it goes on still is the law as written
sucks,rarely used etc.
